The last 3 weeks have been extremely busy, but fun. First, Kodie was off to hockey camp in Marquette, so Gary and I were off to Chicago for a weekend of fun. We stayed with my sister and went to a Cubs game. We also went downtown to eat at Quartino's. It is was an interesting dinning experience. You don't actually order a meal, you order a bunch of small appetizer size items, that way to get to try a little bit of everything. It was really good and I suggest giving it a try if your in Chicago.
The next weekend, I was off to Leeland to see my mom. It was just the two of us and we had a blast! When I first got into town, we went to Apache Trout Grill, my favorite place to eat in Traverse City. It was as good as I remember it, yummy. My mom kept telling me she wanted to take me on a hike to Pyramid Point because it was such a beautiful sight, so we hiked up there and once we got to the top.....I saw nothing but fog. Oh well, it was still a nice hike. We drove to a lot of the small towns around Leeland and did some window shopping. At night, we went to this really nice restaurant called, North. It overlooks Little Traverse Lake and has amazing food. I think this will be another one of my favorite places to go up north.
And this weekend, my mom came to stay with us before she headed back to Nashville. We took her to a Tigers game and had a blast even though they lost. We got there about an hour before the game so Kodie could see the players during batting practice and try to get an autograph. Well, not only did he try to get an autograph....he did get an autograph! He is the luckiest kid I know, he always gets something everywhere he goes. He was able to get Curtis Granderson's autograph on his jersey. It made his night, he was soooo excited!!!
