MIS

On Sunday, Gary and I woke up at 3:30am (yes, that is right) to go work at MIS (Michigan International Speedway race track) for Kodie's hockey team. I can't tell you when, if ever, I have seen 3:30 in the morning. We had to be at the race track at 5 in the morning to learn what we were going to be doing for the next 16 hours. We ended up loading and un-loading people from the Tram. The Tram is a trolley like system that takes people to different turns on the track. We were dropped off at our station at 6am and the gates didn't even open until 8am. So we sat there with 6 other people freezing our butts off for 2 hours. (Doesn't that sound like fun?!?) The entire morning, I kept thinking to myself, why are people up so early to walk around the track and why are they drinking beer at 8 in the morning on a Sunday? I have never seen soo many drunk hillbillies in my entire life. I felt pretty good throughout the entire day, but around 6pm started to get really sick. By 7pm, I was crying because I was in so much pain. At that time, Gary decided it was time for us to leave and we were taken back to our vehicle. I thought by this time I would be home in about 45 minutes max because it was almost 2 hours after the race ended. But NO, we were stuck in traffic FOREVER and ended up getting home at 8:45pm. Needless to say, Gary and I DID NOT have fun and will probably never work another race. I would also let anyone know who is thinking about working a race, that you get up at the butt crack of dawn to work 16 or more hours with a bunch of drunk hillbillies. Who wants to sign up??

Tigers Game-8/12/08

On Tuesday night we went to another Tigers game, but this time we went with Kodie's Uncle and Cousins from Colorado, his Grandma and Grandpa, and his Uncle Nay Nay and LeAnne. Kodie's Uncle Brock and his kids Taylor and Bryce were a blast to be around. It was the first time I had met the kids and Gary and Kodie's second time. They were the 2 most out going kids I have ever met. They acted like they had known you their whole life and all they wanted to do was be with you. We really wish would could see them more often, but at least we had a week to spend time with them. Oh and by the way, the Tigers lost AGAIN.

Tigers Game-8/11/08

On Monday night my sisters Stacey and Jamie, Jamie's boyfriend Scott, my stepmom MaryAnn, Gary and I all went to the Tigers game. Stacey is living in Texas and Jamie & Scott are in Boston, so it is really rare that we all get to see each other at the same time. We had seats right behind the bull pen. MaryAnn kept waving to Fernando Rodney and he kept waving back to her and then she asked him for a ball. He didn't throw one to her but my sister Jamie went down to the wall and convinced him to finally give her a ball. MaryAnn was soo excited, you would have thought she just won the lottery. There were also 2 home run balls that landed on each side of us, only seats away! I really miss spending time with my other 2 sisters, so I really enjoyed that game.....even though the Tigers lost.

Mindy's Wedding

On 8/8/08 my friend, Mindy, married her best friend Phillip. It was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen. The day couldn't have been more prefect. We all got ready at her parents house and then a limo picked us up to take us to the golf course, where they got married. Mindy was a stunning bride!! Here are some pictures of that perfect day.
